Rock County man found competent for trial in sister's homicide case
JANESVILLE, Wis. (WKOW) — A Rock County man accused of killing his 8-year-old adopted sister and hiding her body has been deemed competent to stand trial. Dayveon Lathrop, a 21-year-old man from Rock County, is accused of killing his 8-year old adopted sister and hiding her body in 2020. Several competency tests had been ordered for Lathroro, who was deemed unfit for trial earlier this year. He has pleaded not guilty to both charges. A status conference has been scheduled for May 8, 2026 and a jury trial is scheduled for July 20, 2020.
