DANE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- There's a reward to find someone who shot and killed a bald eagle near Madison. Hoo's Woods Raptor Center says X-rays show a pellet lodged in her beak. They believe it wasn't A bald eagle was shot and killed near Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin, near the city of Kohalen, with a pellet lodged in her beak and a high level of lead poisoning. The sanctuary, Hoo's Woods Raptor Center, believes this wasn't an accidental shooting and the eagle was critically ill with a high amount of lead. It's a felony to shoot raptors and a $1,000 reward is being offered for information.

This eagle was also critically ill with a high level of lead poisoning.
The raptor sanctuary says the eagle died in less than 24 hours at their hospital. It's a felony to shoot raptors.
Hoo's Woods is offering a $1,000 reward to find out who shot this eagle.
