Former Madison teacher David Fawcett was sentenced to 18 years in federal prison for producing child pornography and ordered to pay $35,000 in restitution. David C. Fawcett, a 59-year-old Madison man, has been sentenced to 18 years in federal prison for producing child pornography, followed by 20 years of supervised release and ordered to pay $35,000 into victim restitution funds. The charges stem from a criminal complaint alleging that Fawcette, a former teacher at a Madison elementary school, communicated with Minor A between June and August 2025 and regularly asked her to send explicit images to him. The full extent of Fawcet's actions will not be known as he destroyed any additional evidence during a raid by the Madison Police Department SWAT Team. U.S. Judge William M. Conley stated that Fawtett took advantage of a troubled girl and knew the effects his conduct would have on minors as a long-time teacher.
