Madhavi Ananth is a Director of Finance with over a decade of experience in FP&A, credit risk, and regulatory capital planning. In addition to her deep knowledge of corporate finance, Madhavi Ananth has managed global finance teams, which has helped her take her career to new heights.

“I had the opportunity to mentor and lead global finance teams,” says Madhavi Ananth, reflecting on the positive influence she’s had on organizations.

Among her top skills are financial modeling, financial planning and analysis, credit risk, and financial analysis.

Madhavi Ananth says she was determined to pursue a career in finance because of her deep passion for numbers and the pivotal role they play in informing business strategies.

Ananth completed her MBA with the goal of becoming a finance professional, eager to work in a corporate setting, however over the years, her career has broadened beyond that initial goal.

“Financial literacy is so important today, so I’ve dedicated some of my time to running financial literacy workshops,” she goes on to say.

Madhavi Ananth says financial literacy has transformative power within communities because it gives people the essential tools they need to build the lives they want and support themselves.

According to a 2021 Fairwinds Credit Union survey, only 6% of US adults can correctly answer 7 out of 10 questions regarding basic financial concepts and just 54% of American adults pay their credit card bills in full each month.

“I was determined to help people gain more financial literacy, but also to make it appealing and fun for them to learn,” says Ananth, who has always been drawn to the numbers.

As an extension of her efforts to help people build financial literacy skills within her community, Madhavi Ananth has launched her own website to share her knowledge about Corporate Finance, Financial Planning and Financial Analysis. While many of the learnings on her website are more advanced and geared towards finance professionals, she also shares accessible content for anybody interested in learning more about finance.

“Having the privilege to mentor students and budding professionals has been the highlight of my career, and I look forward to giving back more,” says Ananth.

Today, Madhavi Ananth continues to lead teams with social impact in mind. She gathers direct reports for financial professionals and executives, using numbers and analytics to derive key insights. These learnings then go on to inform business strategy and decision making.

“Finance is about more than just revenue. It paints a picture of the entire organization and gives you strategies to improve on the systems and processes that already exist,” says Ananth.

Madhavi Ananth goes on to say, “Communication is another skill that I’ve developed and honed over the years. The ability to demystify complex financial concepts and share them with stakeholders has been essential in my career. Rallying my team around a common goal hinges on clear and impactful communication, and it’s backed up by the data.”

Madhavi Ananth says her work is about forging genuine connections rather than informational transactions, and she feels energized by the prospect of continuing to make positive change within the workplace and her community.
