Wisconsin joins lawsuit against Dollar General for alleged deceptive pricing practices
“The prices that folks see displayed when they’re shopping should be the same as the prices they’re charged when they check out,” said AG Kaul. The Wisconsin Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, and 19 other states are suing Dollar General Corporation for alleged deceptive pricing practices. The lawsuit alleges that the company has been charging customers more at the register than the prices displayed on shelves, price tags, and advertisements. The complaint alleges that thousands of Dollar General stores have profited from millions of dollars in unlawful overcharges. Wisconsin Department Of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection Secretary Randy Romanski supports the state's price accuracy, stating that consumers should be able to trust the prices advertised to them.
