Four Home Runs Lift JMU to 12-6 Victory Over Georgia State
James Madison softball clubbed four home runs in a 12-6 triumph over Sun Belt foe Georgia State on Thursday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Park. James Madison University softball defeated Georgia State 12-6 in the series-opening game, with four home runs scored by the team. The victory came after Georgia State had taken a 2-1 lead in the first inning, but a throwing error from the Panthers allowed JMU to bring a run across and extend the lead to 2-0. Georgia State's Chloe Nadler, who hit two home runs in the game, managed to take back a 5-3 lead with a two-run homer from Nadler. The Dukes improved to 19-13 (3-4 Sun Belt) with the win, finishing with 12 runs on 11 hits and one error. The four home home runs were the second-highest total this season. The three-game series between JMU and Georgia State is set to continue tomorrow.
