MADISON (WKOW) -- Coming to Madison's athletic community this Saturday is Joy Ride, a women-owned cycling studio near the East Town Mall.

The studio is co-founded by three friends, Laura Doolin, Nina Offerman and Maura Tracy, who opened their business after their previous cycling studio closed down.

"We kind of always wanted to start our own studio, but I don't think that would have happened if that other studio hadn't shut down," Offerman said.

In an interview with 27 News' Caroline Dade, the cyclists described Joy Ride as fun, challenging, and a great community of people.

What sets the class apart according to the co-founders is its approachability and focus on connection.

"You don't have to be an elite athlete or an avid cyclist to come to Joy Ride and be successful," Doolin said. "We want people to come into our studio, feel safe, feel welcome and feel strong, and remember that experience when they leave."
