The former Playboy model Holly Madison recently got candid about how she benefited from getting an autism diagnosis.

Madison made these admissions to People and explained that it helped her to make peace with a lot of her earlier, interpersonal experiences and after leaving Playboy Mansion she continued to become a bestselling author, podcast host, and producer of true crime series.

Madison said, “I'm so glad I got that diagnosis because I can recognize how I operate the way I do, why I operate the way I do, how I relate to people.”

She also continued on to say, “I feel like it's helped my social skills just knowing that.”

According to the WHO, Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are a diverse group of conditions, which are characterized by some degree of difficulty with social interaction and communication.

The former Girls Next Door star, during an interview in December with Talking to Death podcast, said, “The doctor told me that I have high executive functioning, which means I can pretty much go about my life and do things ‘normally,’”

Joking about people’s attitude towards her nonsocial behavior she also added, "I think because I’m quieter, I’ve only recently learned to make eye contact, I’m often in my own thoughts, things like that, so people take that as offensive. They’re like, ‘Damn, you’re not super interested in me, f*** you’.”

But Madison admitted she does not take these attitudes personally, “Like, I'm just not on the same social wavelength as other people but don’t take it personally. So, I like being able to explain that.”

For those unversed, Holly Madison shares two children Rainbow Aurora, 11, and Forest Leonardo, 7 with ex Pasquale Rotella.

Currently she has been dating Ghost Adventures host Zak Bagans since 2019.

Madison's new crime series Lethally Blonde will air on ID.
