Drier and warmer weather returns

We're tracking warmer weather ahead. The weather in Southern Wisconsin is expected to improve, with temperatures expected to drop to 31° in Madison early Friday morning and gradually decreasing cloud cover expected throughout the afternoon and evening. Despite this, isolated rain showers are expected to occur throughout the day, but this will be a relief for the area as the system responsible for the recent snow, rain, and cold weather is moving towards New England. Despite being mostly cloudy and overcast conditions, temperatures will reach a high of 44° on Friday, with mostly sunny skies expected to return for the weekend, giving way to high temperatures near the 50° on Saturday. However, as of Sunday, we will face a more challenging weekend with high temperatures and wind gusts as high as 35 mph.

Well, Mother Nature has finally given us a break from the snow across Southern Wisconsin. That being said, we’re not out of the woods quite yet - Isolated rain showers are still expected to pass through the region up until about dinnertime or so, then we will finally begin dry out throughout the area. The system responsible for all of our snow, rain and cold weather over these last few days is finally migrating toward New England, giving us some much-needed relief from these damp and gloomy conditions.

After seeing temperatures reach only as high as the low 40s earlier today, the mercury will dip toward 31° in Madison early Friday morning. We will wake up to mostly cloudy to overcast conditions and those clouds will likely linger throughout much of the morning. However, gradually decreasing cloud cover is expected throughout the afternoon and evening on Friday, setting the stage for a far more pleasant Saturday ahead. After remaining partly sunny at best with a high temperature of 44° tomorrow, mostly sunny skies are expected to return for the beginning of the weekend, giving way to high temperatures near the 50° mark on Saturday.

Keep those umbrellas handy however, the combination of damp weather and blustery winds are expected to return as we wrap up our weekend ahead - cloudy skies, wind gusts as high as 35 mph, scattered rainfall and a high temperature of 43° will make for a fairly unpleasant Sunday throughout Southern Wisconsin.
